Trident is ready to play
I will be honest, it is just as hard for me to not release these pics as it is for you. I never release a top I don’t like but I know that peoples tastes vary so I mix up the designs a lot to try to give something for everyone. When one comes out that I really really like, I get so excited. It is hard for me to get really excited for the more basic tops.
I like crazy intricate like the Wraith. Well the Trident was done on Friday night and normally I would have left it alone but I loved it so much I came in on Saturday and spent a long time playing with tweaks to get it right. Getting patterns to line up and be shown throughout the design to keep the theme.
As with any design, this one will not be for everyone. As for me, I cant stop looking at it. I will tell you, this has the spin time of the Kraken and Aperture. If a long spin is your thing, you might not care for this one. If you like a crazy amount of detail and a top that just looks sweet while spinning, this one is for you. Judging by the price of Kraken’s and Aperture’s, lots of you will really enjoy this design 😀
great question. Its hard because it is so new. My opinion on favorites changes all the time. I doubt there will ever be a top I make that I will like better than the Wraith. I loved the Aperture. For me, I would definitely take the Trident over the Kraken. The Navigator is close but I have had the two sitting next to one another on my desk and if I had to pick right now, I will take the Trident. TOTALLY different spin characters. I have never seen a top spin like the Trident. It is like it moves in slow motion. I will do a full video of it later this week. So as of this moment, I will say it is my third favorite top of mine.

TRIDENT UPDATE:
I apologize for the pics as this top has some minor blemishes from all the pics in the rocks.
We are not going to have all the materials in by this Friday for the Trident. We will release what we have and keep adding qty to the website as we get it in. Don’t ask quantities yet because I don’t know but will keep you informed as we know more.
There will be 7 exotics total for the inner discs:
Damasteel
Spirograph
Razorwire
twist (standard)
basketweave
2 color Mokume
3 color Mokume
Top is 1.2″ and has a CG similar to the Navigator. Due to the high amount of milling, this one will have a spin time similar to the Kraken and Aperture.
Pricing will be $150 plus shipping for the standard materials and $220 plus shipping for the exotics. I am sorry for the price variations in the exotics but I am getting a handle on pricing. The Mokume produces some scrap due to material variations and the new damascus is hard so machining takes longer and we still have a very small amount scrap due to material imperfections. The cost of these are high and I am finally getting decent at machining them.

We are not sure what materials or when we will be going live on Etsy. More updates as we get them!
A little about the Trident, this is a brand new assembly. I have never milled into the inner disc after assembly making them flush. If you look at the Kraken/Aperture/Navigator/Sharknado you will notice a gap in between the outer collar and inner disc. The Trident does not. I loved how it turned out and this new assembly will allow me to vary designs even farther! I really hope you all like it, I put a ton of work into it 😀 I know peoples tastes vary but man, I love this one!!

OFFICIAL TRIDENT INFORMATION POST: We will update this post as we get more information.
– The Trident will be launched per the countdown timer on the website first. We will probably put some on Etsy but not sure what and how many at this point. We will give you all a heads up when we know more.
– Price will be $150 plus shipping for standard materials (Copper, Bronze and Stainless Steel) and $220 plus shipping for exotics. The exotic material will ONLY be on the inner disc. We are not sure what materials we will pair them with at this point. Your exotic materials are:

-We are not sure out of the 27 possible standard material combinations we will be offering at this point.

-We ordered all of the exotic material but it is not all here yet. We will not know all of the counts until we are done machining it all. This means some variations will sell out then open back up again. These exotic materials are not easy to work with and we have a decent scrap margin. This is the safest way to proceed. All the material we will be using for the Trident is ordered and once that is all gone, we are done!
-NO we will not set one aside for you. No you cannot preorder to secure a spot. We do not show favoritism and I get more messages than you could believe asking for one of these two things. Hopefully this prevents that from happening.
-There will be a 2-3 week lead time on shipping! This means you might wait up to 3 weeks before your Trident ships. It makes no difference when you order or what you order. We will do everything we can to manufacture and ship as fast as possible.
-You will get an email from us once your package ships. It will contain your tracking. If you did not get that email, it has not shipped. Please don’t message asking us when your package is going to ship! It will ship withing the lead time mentioned above 😀

I edited the official Trident post to reflect this as well. We are still working on the damasteel and think we have a solution so we will put those up if it works. I also have basket weave and razor wire coming early next week.

We will not be launching ANY tops on Etsy until Monday at the earliest. The tops we put on there will be Standard Materials only. We will still have standard materials on the website.

Great launch! Went off without a hitch. WOW the messages are coming in. Once again, the way this system is working is IMO the best way to do it. I know those that did not get a spiro do not agree but no matter what the system, people are not going to get any and be upset. Since the Rotor launch I have considered every possibility and am very pleased with the changes we made and how this went. I am in the process of updating the official Trident information thread and will let you know when it is done so you can see the updated info! Thanks again!!
Official Trident trimetal order thread. This is for a SS/Cu/Br Trident like pictured below. Feel free to order as many as you like. I will leave this open until mid next week and make as many as we have orders for. If you voted in the poll, you still need to order here! Immediate payment required. There is up to a 3 week lead time on these. This means even if you bought it and payed for it now, it will be up to 3 weeks before it ships. You will get an email with tracking once it has shipped! This order will ship separately from any other Trident order and we don’t have the time to combine them. We will put down actual $ amount on the packing slip for International buyers. Keep this post to orders only!
$150 plus $5 domestic and $12 International shipping. These are the shipping prices no matter how many you order. So if you want 2, it would be $305 domestic total.
To order (make sure you do these steps in this order):

Damasteel is a no go. We will sell it unetched. I will get a few pics of it like that. You can still see a faint pattern.
DAMASTEEL TRIDENTS: I am not going to etch these so I am thinking of offering these unetched. You could etch them or send them off to be etched or just leave them as is. You can see the faint pattern in the front but not the back. There is a 0% chance I will change my mind about etching so we either sell them unetched or nothing. I would sell them for $165 plus shipping in SS, Cu or Br. Please reply if you would be interested in buying for this price. This is not an order thread, just trying to get an idea.

There will be 27 total different Trident variations gasp emoticon I Think I will make a video today of just the combos I have. Doing all 27 will just take to long and be redundant. I will work on the video now and get it on YouTube this morning!

Lets have some fun. This will be a 4 round scavenger hunt picture contest. Winner gets a all bronze 1/1 Trident. I will post the rules and the number of winners of each round. Only the winners of the previous round get to play in the next round. We will keep eliminating people until there is one left. Make sense?
